After last weeks game I am probably not the only one to have concerns over the football team. This is a game that UK should win by 2 or 3 TDs. If we don't, then it's never too early to start doubting. With a trip to SC following that we should be 3-0 before FL comes to town. The schedule is set tho help us get a good start but if we're not ready it could hurt us at the end of the season. This would be in our total win column and where we play at the end of the year. We have a chance to win as many as 8 games or even 9 with a little luck. Stoops has the contract extension for delivering a post season game last year and now it's time for this team to stand up and play. I hope they are up to it. I'll be watching from sections 32/33.

I am sure that this team will improve over the course of the season. The offense seemed very limited, and I suspect that was a coach's decision (so our upcoming SEC foes don't have film of our complete package). I suspect we will see more of the same this week against EKU. By the SC game, we should reveal a more complete offensive scheme, or at least I hope so!
The defense seemed pretty solid. Not spectacular, but I like their play enough to be optimistic here as well. And our special teams actually impressed me. So, color me optimistic, but not "9 wins" optimistic. I will be very, very happy to get 7 wins and a better bowl game.

I am as concerned as the next fan about the performance of the offense in the opening game. That being said, at least they won. They started out 0-2, last season and lost their starting QB. I am also guessing that I am not alone in my thinking that they wouldn't get to a bowl, at that point of the season.
Yes, the O looked horrible. The D was solid. The officials gave them a first down when it should have been turned over to Kentucky on downs and another bad call went the other way as well. A minimum of 3 points should have been taken off the board. UK could have scored at the end, but chose not to. Still, the offense had too many failed drives and lacked execution.
I am not a fan of any coordinator that has a whole off season, comes into a game against a lesser opponent, and can't get his players to execute. They finally get the extra practices that come with a bowl game, that helps the players that red short or are waiting their chance to play, next season. What do they have to show for it? Not much, on the O side.

I absolutely agree with both posts. I am wanting to stay on the band wagon but right now they have to show mw more than what we seen last week. They better be opening up some holes for Benny to make more yards. We need a couple hundred yards of passing. Let's hope the D can shut EKU down.

I've learned over the years that one game is no indication of anything. We may come out next game and put 50 on the board. I'm just happy our young team won on the road.

This team needs a lot of improvement. But, they have managed to win both games, despite making mistakes and coming out flat.
They are tough to watch right now. Hope they figure things out.
