Offense: C-plus

Kentucky’s offense was significantly better than last week — 436 total yards Saturday compared to 254 yards against Southern Miss — but the offensive line is still a concern. Eastern Kentucky’s defense had eight tackles for loss and three sacks against Kentucky.

The Wildcats have been forced to shuffle bodies along the offensive line, and the expense is a lack of continuity. And while the running game was inefficient in the first half, the offensive line and running backs Benny Snell and Sihiem King wore down Eastern Kentucky’s defense in the second half.

Kentucky averaged 5.3 yards per rush Saturday compared to just 2.2 yards per rush in Week 1. Snell ran for 103 yards and a score on 19 attempts. King had 61 yards on nine carries — an average of 6.8 yards per carry.

Perhaps the biggest positive from Kentucky’s offense was the play of quarterback Stephen Johnson. After backup Drew Barker was inserted for the third and fourth series — his first playing time in almost a year — Johnson returned, and reminded all why he’s Kentucky’s starter.
