Former Kentucky head football coach Joker Phillips has been hired as a quality control coach for the offense at Ohio State.
WKYT was the first to report Phillips’ hiring, which was confirmed by the Columbus Dispatch.
A wide receiver and assistant coach at UK on two different occasions, Phillips was promoted to head coach in 2010. His teams went 13-26 over three seasons, including 4-20 in the SEC, before Phillips was fired with two games remaining in the 2012 season. Kentucky did reach the BBVA Compass Bowl in 2010.
Phillips was an assistant coach at Florida under Will Muschamp in 2013 before resigning after allegedly having contact with a recruit during an NCAA dead period.
