Two members of the Kentucky Wildcats’ next two recruiting classes received high recognition this week.

Future Wildcats Daimion Collins and Skyy Clark were recognized for their excellence in the 2020-2021 season, both named to the Sports Illustrated All-American Third Team. They’ll join Caleb Houstan, Matt Cleveland and Scoot Henderson on the team.

At this moment, Collins is ranked as ESPN’s 17th-best prospect in the 2021 class and fourth-best at his power forward position. His scout grade (0-100) is a 90, and he’s classified as a five-star recruit. According to 247Sports, the Atlanta (TX) native is ranked as the 10th-best player in his class and third-best at his position.

As for Clark, ESPN has him ranked as the 14th-best player overall in the 2022 class and third at his position. On 247Sports, Clark is classified as the 13th-best player and second-best combo guard. The five-star guard came out recently via Twitter and announced that he’ll indeed be staying in the class of 2022, reassuring that he has much left to accomplish for his high school career and there’s no need to rush to the collegiate level.

While it would have been excellent to have both Collins and Clark on the same team, it’s doubtful that Collins will be hanging around for more than a year if he lives up the hype he has coming in to next year.

With what is expected to be a gaping hole of opportunity in Kentucky’s front court, Collins shouldn’t have any trouble shining. As for Clark, it looks like we’ll have to wait until 2022 to see him in Kentucky blue.
