And to make it worse, it started snowing here at about the same time the last nail was driven in the UK coffin.

Never seen a bunch of kids collapse so predictably, every game.
The last 10 minutes is a flurry of turnovers, bad shots, stupid fouls, and terrible decisions. Not just this game, but almost every game.
I really want to like this team. But they just don't PLAY as a team, at least for any extended period of time.
I think we lose out. Honestly, who can we beat?

This is the most selfish team I've ever seen, and I have to believe they're coached to play this way. It's basically a "whoever has the ball tries to score" offense. Basketball is supposed to be a team sport.

I played Catan, a board game with my wife and granddaughter instead of watching the game. I'm through with this team. I'm following all the other spots at UK. Hopefully next year will be better.

Without solid PG play, this team has no chance. There isn’t one player who can create his own shot. Without a PG to drive and dish they have a stagnant offense. Why in the world does Cal play Sarr so much and Jackson so little? BJ is as bad as we’ve seen at UK and he plays 30-35 minutes. Pitiful. We are the laughingstock of the SEC.

I am beginning to think the real brains behind UK's success took an offer from the Knicks last August.

Has anyone noticed that Boston seems to not play the last four minutes of many games? Why would Cal play him 35 minutes if he's not good enough to play the crunch-time minutes? Makes no sense.

Norm, I think that what left wasn't so much the brains (the scheme and tone haven't changed), but the heart.
I think Payne was the coach who really connected with the players, the coach whom the players actually trusted, and the coach who actually taught them how to play.
He had a real presence that nobody else on the team has. Losing Payne was a real blow.

rlt4uk,
Settlers of Catan is a great game. We have a stack of board games we keep in the living room for when my daughters are home.
Certainly, should things go badly, losing at Catan is easier to swallow than watching the Cats lose. Good choice.

Maybe there's a way we can get Payne back.
