The most obvious problem for Kentucky right now is an inability to take care of the basketball. Per KenPom, the Wildcats have turned the ball over on a ghastly 25.4% of their offensive possessions, a mark that ranks 265th out of the 292 teams who have played at least one game this season. Those giveaways have been costly: Georgia Tech scored 33 points off 21 UK turnovers, while Richmond scored 22 off 21 Kentucky miscues.

“Guys are trying to make the hardest play they can make,” Calipari said following the Georgia Tech loss. “Just make easy plays and attack.”

I don't like his idea of playing either Sarr or Jackson; they both deserve to be on the floor. Yes, spacing is a problem, and those two have to make an effort to move without the ball and keep one big body out of the paint. Jackson can be effective cutting through the paint, and Sarr has proven he can find him with a good pass.

And I am not sure that "clogging up the lane" is our biggest problem, or even in the top 10 problems. Passing (number 1 issue), spacing, and good shot selection are what I would focus on. Passing especially is a glaring weakness of this team, and would be helped by good spacing, movement without the ball, and having our bigs "present" themselves for a timely entry pass. Running the ball through Sarr makes sense to me, since our perimeter players have not shown enough to earn that.

Statistics show we are turning the ball over 25% of the time! Even if you shoot the ball on a 33% rate that has to be 12-15 more points per game.

Their is no doubt, we have work to do. Cal knows it and will hopefully have the Cats playing better soon. It will be interesting to see how they are progressing against Notre Dame on Saturday.
