Looks like Cal is pulling out all the stops to try and fill his front court. The Sarr case is being delayed by the SEC for who knows what reason, and Cal is just trying to fill his front court. Will be interesting to see what comes of this due to the virus.

"""UK has sent in a transfer waiver request for sophomore Jacob Toppin, who joined the Wildcats’ program earlier this year after playing one season at Rhode Island. It was announced when Toppin transferred to Kentucky that he would sit out the upcoming season as a traditional transfer and then have three years of playing eligibility beginning with the 2021-22 campaign.

Those plans have apparently changed. If he’s cleared to play, Toppin — listed at 6-foot-9 and 187 pounds — could offer the Cats a little more size this season, especially if star transfer Olivier Sarr is not granted immediate eligibility by the Southeastern Conference."""

Here is some info on Toppin.

Olivier Sarr is not the only transfer seeking immediate eligibility for the Kentucky basketball team this season.

Rhode Island transfer Jacob Toppin, who had previously been assumed to be planning to sit out the 2020-21 season, has also applied for a waiver to the normal transfer requirement of sitting out a season, the school announced Thursday in its preseason prospectus.

Both Sarr and Toppin are listed as "currently ineligible for the 2020-21 season due to transfer rules" on UK's official roster, but the school confirmed waiver requests had been submitted for both. Sarr, a third-team All-ACC selection at Wake Forest last season, has reportedly been approved for a waiver by the NCAA but requires an additional one from the SEC because the league normally prohibits undergraduate transfers who do not have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
