My grandson will be going to Saudi Arabia later this year to work on his post doc at KAUTS which is across the Red Sea from Sudan. Grandpa is not happy about this choice but it is too good of an opportunity for him to pass up. When I voiced my concerns to him he said he would be safer there than in Lexington or any other University here in the United States. Unfortunately he may be right.
I know you were in that part of the world, were you ever assigned in Saudi? [ 04-29-2023, 03:27 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]

handycat hope ur g/son has a great time in Saudi. I travelled that area many times and assigned to Saudi a lot on short assignments and I am sure he will be safe. Sudan and Saudi are two different worlds however - in Saudi one is safe {unless u cross the govt} in Sudan you are never safe anytime and especially now that there is a civil war happening. Our govt has abandoned our citizens and as a result many may be killed and/or imprisoned. [ 04-29-2023, 10:21 PM: Message edited by: ukcatfannfl ]
