They were getting individual instruction but never allowed to group together. No defense played because Cal will start the defensive practices after all other aspects are taught. They may have sold out (free give away) tickets in 1 hour but I noticed not qite all the seats were filled. It was certainly a show of offensive prowess by almost everyone. If we can shoot the 3 like they did last night no one will beat us. Cal cut off the second half of the scrimmage probably because he wanted to take no chance of getting someone injured during the first practice. I don't think we'll see much more defense next Friday than we saw during this scrimmage. If no one gets injured I think this could be #9 this year. I have just the opposite feeling in the blue/white scrimmage. I bet these boys buckle down and try to prevent the guy they're guarding from scoring. That is why we fans get so frustrated in the first six weeks of the season -- we look so inept on offense. But, by mid-January or so, we finally see a better offense that will continue to improve throughout the remainder of the season.
