Big Blue Madness is from 7-9 pm (est) on the SEC Network.

Naturally it's another sell out. Usually we don't get a whole lot out of the show, but you do get an idea of what they look like for the first time.

It usually takes me a 2-3 games before I finally put the face with the number!

Thankfully they are doing their interviews while still showing the action on the floor!

During the pro day broadcast, instead of interviewing Chin Coleman and showing the boys practice, all they showed was the interview!

My wife, who never played and never coached, but was around her Dad who coached and her two brothers who played high school ball said that the team badly missed the fans last year.

I firmly believe one of the reasons our team really struggled last season was they didn't have contact with one another until almost Oct. They were getting individual instruction but never allowed to group together. When you are a fairly young team that doesn't know one another ,you still aren't getting to know one another until you are together!

Boy things have certainly changed since the days of Midnight Madness. No defense played because Cal will start the defensive practices after all other aspects are taught. They may have sold out (free give away) tickets in 1 hour but I noticed not qite all the seats were filled. It was certainly a show of offensive prowess by almost everyone. If we can shoot the 3 like they did last night no one will beat us. Cal cut off the second half of the scrimmage probably because he wanted to take no chance of getting someone injured during the first practice. I don't think we'll see much more defense next Friday than we saw during this scrimmage. If no one gets injured I think this could be #9 this year.

I don't know. I have just the opposite feeling in the blue/white scrimmage. I bet these boys buckle down and try to prevent the guy they're guarding from scoring. Not saying they'll do a good job of it!

Bama, my understanding is that Cal teaches very little offense until much later in the season, but focuses almost entirely on defense through the beginning of Camp Cal in December.

That is why we fans get so frustrated in the first six weeks of the season -- we look so inept on offense. But, by mid-January or so, we finally see a better offense that will continue to improve throughout the remainder of the season.

Maybe I am wrong, but that was how I remembered it.

As usual, I found Big Blue Madness to be a huge disappointment. For me this isn’t basketball practice or scrimmage but a sideshow.
