Good to see Ramon and DeAndre still playing with a paycheck.

Here is what Marc Stein has to D league salaries:

“When it comes to compensation, D-League players continue to be placed in one of three classifications (A, B or C) based on experience and make a mere $25,500, $19,000 or $13,000, respectively. Daily per diem on road trips is $40 … compared to $113 in the NBA. But D-League teams do provide housing and medical care to players to offset the comparatively low wages in relation to what they could command in leagues abroad.”

If you were to ever notice, there's probably more attendance at mist high school games than there is at a "D" league game!

$40 per diem won't even pick up a motel room on a given night!

Hopefully they have arrangements with a lot of the motels they stay in and the 40 dollars gets them a decent room.

My guess is the team picks up motel rooms in addition to the $40. It would make sense to keep all the players in one location. Just a guess.

Salaries remain flat: $25,500, $19,000 and $13,000 for the league's three player classifications, which means D-League players are virtually playing for free -- and a modest per diem on the road of $40 compared to $120 in the NBA -- although they do receive housing and insurance benefits. The D-League also employs a per-team salary cap of $173,000 ... with a dollar-for-dollar luxury tax, just like in the NBA, for teams that go over that amount. Foreign teams that want to pull players out of the D-League must pay $40,000, $45,000 or $50,000, depending on the player's classification, to buy out their D-League deals.

According to this article, they do receive housing and insurance.

To make it to the NBA is extremely difficult but the rewards are so high that these talented athletes have to give the D league a try. You can't blame them one bit to follow their dream as far as possible.
