Millie is still doing fairly well. She can now move the fingers of the left hand, but not enough to actually use them. I am actually afraid that she may hurt herself. She can now get up off the reclining couch at our house, and did so yesterday when I wasn't watching her closely enough. She said my name, and when I looked up, there she stood, grinning like the Cheshire cat. I asked what she thought she was doing, and she said she was going to look out the window at a flower bed our daughter put in earlier in the summer. I asked how she was going to get up off the floor after she falls, and assured that I'd have to get help to get her up, because I could not do it myself. Our daughter had already came back to Bowling Green, because she had to work today. Anyway, she saw the logic in that and sat back down. It was really good to be home for a few days though. We are back in B.G. now, because she has Physical and Occupational rehab tomorrow. She doesn't have to do Speech therapy any more, because she has met all their goals. I finally did learn the difference between Physical and Occupational therapy. They told me Occupational was from the waist up, and Physical the waist down. I guess you never get too old to learn!

Norm,
Thank you so much for that good report. I will continue to pray that she will improve more and not fall and suffer.
I also will pray for you that you will not hurt yourself taking care of her.
I just read an article about Dolly Parton taking care of her husband. It is a wonderful story like you and your wife.
Dolly is apparently worth many millions, but she is staying home taking care of her husband rather than continuing to go out and perform.

My wife has finished the red devil chemo treatment and is doing very well. The doctors are very pleased. They said all tumors have shrunk significantly. Eleven more treatments and then the breast removal. I ask for continued Prayers and we give God all the glory no matter what happens.

P.s. one thing that I've Learned how to do is juice. Who would ever think that green apples, lemons, kale, spinach, and ginger would taste good together but my wife loves it.

Norm I'm glad that Millie is doing some better and I'll continue to pray for the both of you.

Thanks for the updates! I am glad to hear of progress, but both ladies will remain in my prayers.

As will both of you gentlemen! It is difficult to care for your loved one in such crises. I will pray for strength, compassion, and blessings for all.

We, Millie and I, really appreciate the prayers. And yes, it is VERY difficult to take full time care of a loved one. I had/have a trout trip planned for the week of October 4th. She is insisting that I still go, and has her sister lined up to come and stay with her those 4 days. I am not so sure about that. Our daughter will be on vacation with her kids at that same time, and in my opinion, her sister is far from the sharpest knife in the drawer. The only saving grace I can see is, their niece is supposed to come with her. She is a sharp cookie, and unless the niece changes her mind, I may still go. There is a chance that our youngest daughter will come up from Tennessee, and if she does, it's a done deal!

Today is a very sad day. My mother in law died Friday and we are burying her Today. On top of cancer this has been devastating to my wife. So I'm asking again for prayers. P.s. she died two hours before her 88th birthday.

I relaxed and enjoyed myself on the trout trip, but quite honestly, I have had MUCH better trips fish-wise. I only caught 25 on the whole trip. I have caught over 100 many times. I also allowed the boat motor propeller to hit the bottom as I was trying to negotiate a shoal, and got us washed down below said shoal. We just went ahead and fished there using the trolling motor, until a generator at the dam was opened, making the water a little deeper, and then called the dock. They sent somebody to get us, and my brother and his son (who had waders) retrieved the boat the next day. No harm done, but it made me feel like a fool! I have officially resigned as a boat captain ever again!

Great news! My wife finished her chemo treatments yesterday and is doing great. We meet with the surgeon on the 29th to set a date for her double mastectomy. We're not out of the woods yet,but praise God for what he's done. Please continue to pray and have a great day.

Glad for you and the Missus. I wish I had a better report for my wife, but unfortunately, I do not. I don't think her problems are as much physical, as they are in her head. The problem with her, is overconfidence. She gets the idea that she can do things that she just cannot do. She sleeps in a recliner next to our bed, and this morning at about 7:00, she asked me to take her to the bathroom. I stepped across the hall to get the wheelchair. (We keep a potty chair by her recliner and I had moved it so I could get the wheelchair in there) I was only out of the room 5 or 10 seconds, and I don't know why, but she tried to walk to the foot of the bed and meet me there. Then she turned around and started back. Down she went, face first. I had to call a neighbor to help me get her up. She hit the recliner lift handle and thought she had broken her nose. She also thought she may get a black eye, but did not. She does have a knot on her head and a skinned elbow. I am pretty much exasperated, but hanging in there.

Norm, you have to admire Millie's optimism and determination. Imagine, instead, she had just psychologically "given up" and became content to stop struggling to improve!

I hear your frustration, but honor her efforts. I will be praying that they will one day be rewarded.

I, being with Millie full time, really can't see much improvement however, those that don't see her so often, just carry on about the strides she has made. It's a really slow process.

Prayers that God will guide the surgeon's hands, and that the outcome will be overwhelmingly positive. And prayers for Millie's continued progress (and for Norm to see it [Smile] )

Between the dual journeys of Cindy and Millie, and the destruction in Western Kentucky from the tornados, there is much to pray about!

Dr Cannon just called and said everything has went well, the right side is finished no cancer in the right lymphnoids. The left breast has been removed. She's waiting on the pathology report before she goes any further on the left.

Dr Owen has started the first phase reconstruction on the right side. Pray hard that the left lymphnoids comes back clear.

She said she'd let me know when she got the test results and I will let y'all know. 🙏
