The Kentucky Wildcats have received more than their fair share of good news over the last 48 hours, and it continued Monday night.

The Cats’ starting safety, Yusuf Corker, announced on Twitter that he is returning for his redshirt senior season.

Corker totaled 77 tackles this season, despite only playing in 11 games, compared to 74 tackles in 13 games last season. He also hauled in two interceptions—both of which came in the last two games of the season. Finally, he forced a fumble and had 2.5 tackles for loss, including one sack.

To put it simply, Corker is all over the place all the time. He’s a big time player and has the chance to be one of the top safeties in the SEC next season.

A secondary that looked like it might be headed for a rebuild next season all of a sudden looks very formidable with the returns of Corker, Quandre Mosely, and Davonte Robinson, as well as the quick improvement of freshman Carrington Valentine.

A good start to the New Year is just getting better by the day. Go Cats!
