With a struggling defense but a potent offense, Ole Miss visits Kentucky for a 4 p.m. SEC football game at Kroger Field on Saturday. The SEC Network has the telecast.

The Rebels are coming off a tough 38-37 loss to Arkansas in which interim coach Matt Luke’s team led 31-7 in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Kentucky is fresh off a 29-26 win over border rival Tennessee which lifted Mark Stoops’ team to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. Ole Miss is 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the SEC.

Unfortunately, we're stuck with Stoops. We're lucky that the SEC East stinks so bad that we can be as bad as ever and still go bowling. Until this university decides to invest in a real coach, we'll be fortunate to win 6 games a year.

I can't believe our defense is as bad in year 5 as it was in year 2. Pitiful, pitiful, pitiful!

This team is what it is, a low level bowl team. Kentucky is in far better shape than when Stoops first took over. That being said, I don't think Stoops is a HC that can take them farther than they are going this year. Isn't this year 5? His defense still makes a ton of bone head plays and defense is suppose to be Stoops' specialty.

It would cost them a fortune to get rid of him. They can only hope that he would get hired away. Should that happen, could they get a proven up an comer that is already a HC, who is winning in his conference, and would bring the whole staff with them and win, right out of the gate?

We are headed nowhere but to TN, either the Music City Bowl or the Liberty Bowl. We have probably won all the games we are going to win this year. First haslf 5-1 and second half 1-5. There would have to be a big turn around to win another game.

Since 1983 we have played in 11 bowl games winning 3 and losing 8 including the last 3 bowl games in a row.

There is no point in trying to make excuses or "look at the bright side". there IS no bright side. UK just sucks at football, and always has, as far as I can see. It's all about coaching and recruiting, and we have neither. I think "Making a bowl game" has become the goal, and we will never surpass that unless another Bear Bryant magically appears and falls in love with the University of Kentucky. Like Boom said, "we are what we are". Period. I'm just glad I lived long enough to see us beat Tennessee. Now to break the Florida streak...........
