The athletic accomplishments of Paintsville High School’s Kash Daniel received special recognition recently on the floor of the Kentucky House of Representatives, thanks to state Rep. Hubie Collins of Wittensville.

Rep. Collins sponsored House Resolution 85 to recognize Daniel, a senior for the Tigers who has been named Kentucky’s “Mr. Football” for 2015 and the Gatorade State Football Player of the Year. Daniel also received the prestigious Paul Hornung Award presented to Kentucky’s top high school football player by the Louisville Quarterback Club.

Daniel starred at both linebacker and quarter for Paintsville High, leading the Tigers to a 13-1 record during his senior season and a run to the Class IA semifinals. He rushed and passed for 2,245 total yards as a senior, with 36 touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 158 tackles, four fumble recoveries, four interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
