Even by Kentucky football standards, this was a historic collapse.

Needing a win to gain bowl eligibility, Kentucky jumped in front of Louisville 21-0 10 minutes into the game. The defense got two interceptions, including one returned 81 yards by Josh Forrest for a score. Redshirt freshman quarterback Drew Barker led a touchdown drive on his first series.

Kentucky fans turned out in the rainy weather much better than expected.

But all the good karma went away quickly as Louisville DOMINATED the second half to beat UK 38-24 and turn a 4-1 UK start this season into a 5-7 finish. It was much like last year’s 5-1 start that turned into a 5-7 finish.

“We played a really good first half and didn’t finish. We started the second half not playing very well on either side of the ball,” Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said.

They apparently lost the game at halftime when their opponent's coaching staff made adjustments to their game plan and UK did not. That seems to have been the story of their entire season.

Honestly, take away two stupid passes by the UL quarterback early in the game and we only score 10 points the entire game.

The reason we didn't change strategy in the second half is we have no other way to play than what we played. There is no Plan B.
