How much has the environment at Commonwealth Stadium changed in Mark Stoops‘ short time at Kentucky? “Completely,” the UK coach said on the coaches’ teleconference on Wednesday. “Completely changed.

“The atmosphere, the game day, the energy in the first two home games has been incredible. Totally different than when I first arrived.”

Stoops credited UK’s administration and others who worked hard to get the stadium renovated and ready to go this season as well as the fans, whom he said stuck it out through the difficult years.

“The fans have been incredible,” he said. “I’ve said that since I’ve been here, since day one, I’ve said we have a passionate fan base, we just need to do our job and put a good football team out there. I think people can appreciate that we’re getting better and better.”
