Darrell Bird: 7. This season could be the exact opposite of last year when Kentucky raced out to a 5-1 record only to finish 5-7. This time, the key to the season will be surviving September when UK travels to South Carolina before hosting Florid and Missouri. If the Cats could be 2-2 heading into October, take it and run.

Jon Hale: 6. Incremental progress has been key for Kentucky in the first two years of the Stoops Era. That progress will continue this fall with six regular season wins, allowing Kentucky to return to a bowl game. The Wildcats will win the bowl game for good measure.

Chris Fisher: 6. I think the Cats score wins over Lafayette, Eastern Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Charlotte and find a way to scrape together two more wins to become bowl eligible.

Josh Edwards: I said UK’s bowl eligibility would come down to the Louisville game last year and it did (although it shouldn’t have). Cats aren’t on the bubble this year. They finish with a regular season record of 8-4. Lots of toss-up games in my opinion.
