Got to like his attitude and the way he does his job. Players will play extra hard for coach Buh because of it.

Question: When former UK offensive coordinator and current Cal offensive coordinator Tony Franklin said it was impossible for players not to like you, was that accurate in your opinion?

Buh: “That is a really nice thing for Tony to say. I try to go about my business treating each one of these kids like they are my own. It has worked for me and along the way keep it fun but be demanding enough that they know this is a big-time job for them to get done.”

Question: Do you always reach out to parents with calls, e-mails or letters?

Buh: “Because I wasn’t part of the recruiting process, I always think it is important that the family members know who is talking to their son. That’s what I typically do anywhere I go. I reach out to them whether be a hand-written note or a phone call. I typically reach out to say hello and this is who I am and who is talking to your son and what I expect and what they can expect from me.”
