At least one high profile member of Kentucky’s offense supports the hire of Shannon Dawson as the team’s new offensive coordinator. Patrick Towles, the early favorite to start under center again next season, voiced his support of Dawson on the Twitter device last night:

Link

I wonder how Barker will fit into our future offensive system.

I'm still curious as to how the Running Backs will do in this system!

The running backs will get a whole lot better he they get Damien Harris.

Hopefully we'll run some plays that actually stretch the field a little bit too!

I would think that with a new OC, Barker will get his chance to prove himself in the spring and fall.

I think this next season is bowl or bust. I don't see egos getting stroked. If Barker wasn't being red shirted last season, I imagine he would have taken over in a game or even started a time or two. Some UK fans don't like Steve Spurier, but he was never one to fall in love with a QB who was having a bad game. He will make a change in a heart beat, if a QB is not performing. I have always liked that about Spurier.

I think it is critical to keep both QBs on the team, regardless of who wins the job in the fall. A bad performance or an injury can happen at any time. I am acually in favor of playing the 2nd string guy at least a quarter of each game, when they can, to keep the player sharp.

Boom, I agree I think Dawson will come in with a open mind and definitely will put the QB he wants that will fit his style of offense who ever it might be. It could get interesting and bet we will see a much different style of play on the offensive side of the ball.

I'm hoping our classes are as good or better than they have been the last couple of years!

Preferably better if we want to improve in the SEC standings.

We can't just tread water we have to move forward.

Yeah, it's rough when you have a top 20 recruiting class and you are lucky to be in the top 10 in the conference!

It makes no sense and it makes it tough to win SEC games.

You take Bama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, the two Mississippi schools, Texas A&M, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, even Vandy and you can see why we have such a up hill battle every year. It's a deep hole and sometimes wonder if we will ever climb out.

Coach said in his press conference today that every position was open for tryout this spring!

I think Stoops means that and everyone better be ready to fight for their spot. Competition breeds wins!

That's one of the reasons why the B-ball team has been so successful. Competition daily!

In basketball you have only 13 schoolies compared to 85 football players. Where are we going to find 85 four and five star players in this part of the country? It can be done but it's not going to be easy but if anyone can do it Stoops can.

That's why Stoops has been recruiting the state of Ohio so hard!

I hope he finds other areas to recruit also. It's just to hard to find enough talent in one area.

I wish they would look more in Florida as Football is king down here and they even have summer leagues in all the larger cities which really produce a lot of talent, especially in the speed positions.

We used to always have a little luck in Georgia as well!

Georgia helped us get a lot of players and was mostly from one part of Georgia.

I know Daron and Zack Blaylock brothers came from Marietta Georgia and Tucker came from Stone Mountain Geogia.

Ronnie Shields came from Stone Mountain too.

Bud Dupree was from Georgia also so Georgia has been good to us.

We've had a pretty good recruiting road coming in from Georgia, I sure hope it continues!

I think it will if we keep up with the high school coachs.
