Things are finally looking up for Joker Phillips. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Phillips is one of eight finalists for the Florida A&M head coaching job. Other finalists include Charlie Weatherbie, former head coach at Louisiana-Monroe; Willie Simmons, offensive coordinator at Alcorn State; Corey Fuller, interim head coach at Florida A&M; Latrell Scott, current head coach at Virginia State; Ester Junior III, a member of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame; Mark Orlando, offensive coordinator at Prairie View A&M; and Tony Samuel, former head coach at Southeast Missouri State.

The Democrat reports that the candidates are being interviewed via Skype this week, and the list will be narrowed to three by December 17. Joker resigned from his job as the wide receivers coach at Florida in June after reports came out that he made contact with a recruit during a dead period.

Best of luck to Joker. I hope he gets it.

Since they have 8 finalists the odds are not in his favor but what ever happens he will be back in the football at some point, it's in his DNA.

He has plenty of experience and is just to good of a guy not to land some place.
