Louisville is going to be tough no doubt about it.

Because Kentucky had an open date last week, UK coach Mark Stoops got to watch Louisville’s win at Notre Dame — and was impressed by what he saw from the Cardinals.

“Obviously very impressive win for them. Their coach (Bobby Petrino) is doing a great job. They haven’t missed a beat to what they’ve been doing,” said Stoops as he prepares for Saturday’s game at No. 24 Louisville. “They win a bunch of football games, they play extremely hard. They’re very well‑coached, and that’s an impressive win. They’re playing good football.”

Kentucky has lost five straight games — all to Southeastern Conference teams — and needs a win Saturday to become bowl eligible. But Stoops said there will be no drop in physical play because UK is facing Louisville and not a SEC team.

“They’re a very good football team that’s physical and they’re balanced,” Stoops said. “You’d have to make your own decision on where they stack up with the rest of the SEC.

“I don’t think it’s any secret that coach Petrino does a nice job of setting up his run game and scheming the run game, not so much like some teams (that) are gonna line up and pound you with certain run games. They scheme their run game really well. They have some really good boots (bootlegs) and play actions off of everything, and they keep you off balance. I think that is the key to any good play‑caller is keeping you off balance.”

Reggie Bonnafon is the key to the game imo and if we can stop or control him we have a shot but if he has a good game it could be a long afternoon for the Cats.

YEah, if you can contain him to the pocket you have a chance. When he breaks out of the pocket is when he becomes dangerous!

The hard part is that it's not easy to contain him with his speed and quickness. We will have our work cut out for us that's for sure.

We also need the offense to step and put some points on the board.

I just hope we play our hearts out and give good effort. The rest will take care of itself.
