The Kentucky Wildcats have reportedly entered the sweepstakes for five-star guard Hunter Sallis.

In an interview with Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers, Sallis noted that he has been in contact with UK, but he has not yet spoken to head coach John Calipari. Weingarten did note that Kentucky “would love to watch more of him in-person” and have been watching Sallis’ film.

Sallis is rated as the 19th overall prospect and second-best combo guard in the class of 2021 by 247 Sports.

The native of Omaha, Nebraska, has spoken via Zoom with Kansas, UNC, Iowa State, Oregon, Alabama, Creighton, and Arkansas and holds offers from each school.

He also noted that Nebraska, Florida, Alabama, Louisville and UCONN are in the mix as well, meaning his recruitment is still wide open.
