Kentucky has extended a scholarship offer to the nation's No. 1 shooting guard in Bellflower (Calif.) Mayfair 5-star Joshua Christopher.

Christopher announced the offer via Twitter Wednesday.

Christopher (6-4, 200), who is ranked No. 8 overall by 247Sports, is just the 12th prospect in the 2020 class to receive a scholarship offer from the Wildcats and the first of the July evaluation period after averaging 20.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists over five games at Peach Jam last week in front of Kentucky coaches John Calipari and Joel Justus as his Vegas Elite squad finished 3-2.

"The week went great," Christopher told Paul Biancardi of ESPN during Sunday's telecast of the Peach Jam final. "I missed out on Peach Jam last year so I thought I would take advantage of this being my last AAU trip and it being Peach Jam there's a lot of opportunities to make a name for myself and just have fun with it being my hast hurrah."

Even prior to Wednesday's scholarship offer, Christopher listed Kentucky among the schools recruiting him the hardest right now.
