I don't see this as a surprise. If we ever had more than a 5% chance of getting him it would surprise me. Cal does not do well with the tall white guys. I have felt that he would pick KS or DK all along.

""""247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels has a logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of Duke in the recruitment of Matthew Hurt, one of UK’s top remaining targets in the class of 2019.

Hurt — a 6-foot-9 forward from Minnesota — has taken official visits to Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and North Carolina, and he’s the No. 8 player nationally in the senior class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. There is no timetable for his college decision.

Daniels’ prediction in favor of Duke is the first such pick on Hurt’s Crystal Ball page, which has been dominated by pro-Kansas predictions to this point in his recruitment. Daniels has been correct on 89 of his 92 predictions for recruits in the 2019 class.

Hurt is one of three uncommitted seniors with UK scholarship offers. Keion Brooks and Jaden McDaniels are the other two, and Kentucky recently took the Crystal Ball lead for Brooks. The Cats are also leading on the Crystal Ball page of Isaiah Todd, a 2020 recruit expected to reclassify to 2019. Brooks and Todd are both forwards.""""
