I finally broke down and changed into a L.L.Bean fleece lined flannel shirt this afternoon.

It is time. I broke out my Colman fleece-lined pullover too.

I have heard that there are some who claim to like winter. I think they are just making the best of a horrible situation. [Smile]

I've been outside working for the last 10 days now. I absolutely positively hate winter. The cold just goes right through my bones!

Thank goodness for global warming otherwise it would be in the teens right now!

i don't mind the cold as much as the ice and snow. I suffered a mild heart condition last winter trying to chisel a 5 inch ridge of ice off my driveway.

i guess in a way it was a blessing. After the urging of my wife and my doctor, I agreed to several tests, EKG, heart stress, Echo test (whatever that was), etc. I ended up having a heart catheterization procedure done. They found a 65% blockage in one of my arteries. A stint was put in and that took care of it, although I do have to take blood thinner medicine for the next year to prevent blood clots and restrict any strenuous activity probably from now on.

I don't know what I'll do this winter if we get a big snowfall dumped on us. I do have a snow blower but it does no good for ice.

I golfed today after work. Temperature was around 50 degrees, and with the sun shining it was actually pretty pleasant. I'm with Jarcat - don't mind the cold as much as I hate the ice and snow. With Under Armour cold gear I can be outside with the temp in the 30's and it's really not that bad.

Wife and I are talking about retiring in about 26 months and we are already talking about a retirement place down south!
