Kentucky is on the prowl for their quarterback of the future and Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood product Chris Parson turned heads at a Kentucky football camp on Wednesday.

The six-foot quarterback looked to be the best player participating and made some big-time throws while working out for offensive coordinator Liam Coen. Afterward, Parson spent some time at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility going through with an unofficial visit that led to some face-to-face time with head coach Mark Stoops.

After taking visits to Ohio State, Louisville, TCU, Virginia Tech, and Florida State, Parson made the trip to Lexington for the first time and got to finally meet Coen.

“He came and met me in the parking lot and I was literally with him all day,” Parson told KSR about Kentucky’s offensive coordinator. “We did the camp together — I was with him everywhere at camp. We also had a couple of private sessions.”

“I love his style of coaching style, his personality. Everything about him is real good. We vibed instantly, we just clicked.”

This June recruiting period serves as an evaluation opportunity for college coaching staffs when it comes to the 2023 class. Coaches get potential targets on campus for workouts and face-to-face meetings. After that, the recruitment really starts as schools try to convince players to come to their schools. Coen got off to a very good start with Parson. The quarterback loves what he’s hearing about the new offense.
