Not every top-ranked football recruit put pen to paper during December’s early signing period. There are still a few big fish left in the football recruiting world that are looking for a place to call home on National Signing Day. That home could be Lexington for one of the top uncommitted linebackers in America.

Trevin Wallace is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Wayne County, Ga. that 247 Sports ranks as the No. 6 inside linebacker in the 2021 recruiting class and No. 74 player overall. Wallace initially planned on signing with Boston College, but opted out of his commitment to the Eagles a couple weeks before the start of the early signing period.

Wallace made the decision a month after Jon Sumrall formally offered him a scholarship. Kentucky’s inside linebackers coach has an impressive early recruiting success rate in the area, securing seven commitments over the last two cycles. He pulled off a signing day snafu last year by reeling in Josaih Hayes from underneath Ole Miss’ nose. Could he do it again this year?

Most analysts predicted Wallace would sign with Auburn in December. Once Gus Malzahn was fired, it opened the door for other schools to gain ground. New Tigers’ head coach Bryan Hairsin has made Wallace a priority, but Ole Miss, LSU and the Wildcats have a shot.
