I told my nephew at the last timeout - either we won't get a shot off, or we'll score with 12 seconds left and give LSU plenty of time to win the game.

I'll say the same thing about basketball that I do about football. A single play doesn't lose the game for you. How about going 1-10 (give or take a shot or two) over a 7 1/2 minute stretch? Several of those missed shots were dunk attempts or layups!

Now that we are doing a little better, not really a lot better, on defense our offense has gone away. We did give up 48 points last night to a team that averages 75 a game. It seems that Cal has slowed the team down and there is less good movement off the ball. The guys are not playing as fluid and seem to be more unsure of what to do. It all seems to be either the circle play or the dumb ghost screen up top, and the spacing is not too good. The lanes to drive seem to be clogged more often now.

Cal doesn't have the answers. I think this team is doomed to lose at least 11 games and be out in the first weekend. And if that happens, then Cal has truly done a terrible job. It's his guys that he recruited, and it's his responsibility to get the best out of the team he has. He seems incapable of doing that. We should have beat them by at least 8-10 points. Yes, they fight hard, but we have the better team and there is no reason we should have lost that game, even if it is was on a last second shot. Up 15 in the 2nd half and blow it. No adjustments to change anything.

Just like I said a few days ago, we need to enjoy the wins and forget the losses. This team is not what it's cracked up to be. In my opinion it's no better than the teams we had in the past 5 years.
They are completely erratic. There abilities change from game to game and it doesn't matter who we are playing. One night we play good defense and the next game we don't, no matter whether it is a good team or bad. Our defense is the same way. Flip a coin and bet with no assurance who shows up.
Someone is going to buy a pig in a poke if they grab anyone off our roster in the top of the draft. We actually have NO ONE ready for the draft in my opinion. Even Reed continues to make those stupid mistake at the end of games. Shooting of this team is so unreliable.
