Haven't seen the game, but I would bet that those freethrows are because we reach and grab on defense, and they are taking the ball agressively to the rim.
Our footwork and position on defense has been weak all season long.
I just saw Sears use a Kentucky player to screen off his defender for a layup. A KENTUCKY player!
UK, meanwhile, runs the circle-jerk and settles for jump shots. So, no FTs.

The way to beat UK is simple:
Double Tshiewbe. Put two bodies on him so he doesn't get his offensive boards.
Pressure the basketball.
On offense, spread the floor and take it to the rim.
EVERYBODY can beat UK using that formula.

Too embarrassing. Team was not prepared to play, and our lack of offense is on full display. Just really pathetic to watch such a dismal display. We are definitely not the gold standard anymore. This is not a tournament team, and the only thing Cal is doing is cashing his checks.

Watch Bama's offense. Even with three HUGE bigs, they don't have anybody clogging the lane. They spread the floor, find their seam, and either get a good 3 or a layup.

Yes, Bama gets away with some serious uncalled physical play, holding, hacking, bodying up.
But, instead of crying about it, UK should respond in kind. The truth is, we don't have a tough team. Cal likes to talk about toughness, but his team is hardly tough.

I m happy they made a little comeback, but it isn't enough.
Wheeler drove the ball into the defense TWICE in the last possessions with no idea what to do with the ball. Why is he our starting point guard?
We couldn't defend my high school team.
Our offense is SO STALE and SO PREDICTABLE that every team has the "book" on how to beat us.
This is pathetic.

Toppin went a whopping 3-29 from the floor today. We wouldn't have beaten Louisville today with those kind of numbers. 10%? Really? So are these type of shooting woes the coaches fault?

That poor shooting is directly and indirectly the result of great defense by Bama, which made us rush even our open looks. But most of those misses were simply hotly contested shots, bad shots, difficult shots, blocked shots... you get the picture.
Bama got into our head and stayed there all game long. They just molested us physically and traumatized us psychologically.
And we had nothin' to answer with.

I didn’t watch the game, but what I know is against better teams Quad 1/ranked teams over the past 4 years Kentucky is now something like 4-18. In every one of those games UK generally shoots poorly because they take contested shots because that is what Cal’s offense produces. As many coaches have said, Cal’s “floppy” action offense is extremely easy to game plan for and implement that game plan”.
Sure against bad teams Kentucky can get offense and score but they will never beat elite teams running this offense. Their record proves that.
