Way too much dribbling, and there's little driving lanes with Wheeler on the floor, and the sets we get in. Just bad spacing again, but we'll get away with it because we are just more talented. That also means we'll let them hang around longer than they should.

Deny UK transition buckets, make us play in the halfcourt. Double on the post. On offense, drive-and-dish for an open three, or execute a solid screen, or go backdoor.
That last run by UK was because we got out in transition. But the game will be won or lost in the halfcourt.
I think we will win, but man, we look bad on both ends of the court.

It's because of the offense and Wheeler dominates the ball. There's no way a better team doesn't make sure those guys get more opportunities than Wheeler. I'm sure they would take the shots if they had the opportunity to get good ones in a better offense.

I'm sure they have also been told to get the ball to Oscar, which I totally get. My point though is that it is not going to help us for future games, and we shouldn't have to just rely on Oscar against a team like this.

Have to disagree a little. Both Reeves and CJ had reaonsable looks, but opted not to shoot.
Maybe that is because they were told not to shoot? I don't know. But the only guard out there that is going to shoot is Wheeler.

And that's a problem for us if Wheeler is the only guard that's going to shoot. A better coach is going to fix that. I certainly do not take Reeves to be a player that passes up shots unless he has been told not to, or something else. You just aren't going to see that on a well coached team.

Announcer just pointed out Reeves shot was good cause it came out of flow of the offense, not just 1 guy trying to create his own shot. That's the problem that our offense pushes guys to just create their own shot instead of getting more things in the flow of an offense.

If this is going to be a final four team we need Wallace and Reeves to become more consistent scorers and get more shots. We need Wheeler to shoot a lot less, Toppin has to become a consistent 10/8 kind of guy, CJ to be able to get some good looks and hit 2-3 threes a game, and Oscar to be Oscar. I also think Livingston needs to be getting more minutes. And lastly, but most importantly, Cal has got to get us running a different offense. If he doesn't, this team has no shot at a final four. The players are definitely there to be a final four team, but right now the coach is not.

I thought Wheeler played a good game today. He took shots within both the offense and his wheelhouse.
Tshiewbe is just a beast. Not sure I said that before.
Toppin did a decent job in the second half, shooting the mid-range, driving for a bucket, rebounding well... not going to have a great stat line, but he contributed to this win.
Reeves had a decent game. But without a perimeter-oriented offense, he and CJ will at best be be in the category 'also contributed'.
My question is -- what happened to Wallace?

Wheeler took more shots than Reeves, Wallace, and CJ combined and went 5/14. Never gonna be a great game for us if that is happening. Thank goodness we had Oscar. But we have to get other guys going consistently or we'll be in trouble in the SEC.

We won today strictly because of Oscar. If he is in foul trouble I'm not sure we win, and that's a scary thought. Hopefully if he was on the bench Wallace or Reeves would step up more and be able to carry us, and Onyenso would be able to hold down the fort inside enough.
