Olivier Sarr is a difference-maker for Kentucky next season. That is unfortunately true even if he does not become eligible, as it seems that his commitment has scared off a few potential commits. But if he is eligible, it takes the 2020-2021 Kentucky Wildcats to a whole new level.

247 Sports recently ranked the top traditional transfers in the country and discussed their impact on their new programs as well as their likelihood of getting an eligibility waiver. Writer Brian Snow ranked Olivier Sarr as the top transfer in the entire country, and had this to say about his status and impact at Kentucky:

“This is going to be one of the most interesting overall situations because there is no real guarantee that Sarr will ever step foot on campus in Lexington. Sarr is on the record as saying that he will only play his final year if he is eligible right away, which would require a waiver.

If on the court for Kentucky this season, Sarr is a true difference maker. He was one of the most productive bigs in the entire ACC this past season, and the Wildcats have a clear need for experience on the interior. If Sarr is eligible, he greatly improves the ceiling for this Kentucky team, and makes them potentially one of the pre-season favorites to make the Final Four, given the talent that will be on the roster.”
