John Calipari continued a string of recruiting success by landing the top-ranked recruiting class, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

In 12 years of Calipari at the helm in Kentucky, this makes the seventh top-ranked class that Calipari has brought in to Lexington. The other years, Kentucky has brought in the second-ranked class.

Kentucky’s class is headlined by the perimeter duo of Brandon Boston and Terrence Clarke, both of whom landed in the top seven of the final rankings. Boston and Clarke come in as a hyped duo expected to lead the offensive charge for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats also add Lance Ware (no. 5 PF) and Isaiah Jackson (no. 6 Center) in the frontcourt, along with seventh-ranked point guard Devin Askew and 12th-ranked small forward Cam’Ron Fletcher.

The incoming class also features arguably the top transfer in former Wake Forest big man Olivier Sarr, as well as graduate transfer point guard Davion Mintz and Rhode Island transfer Jacob Toppin.

After one of the most substantial exoduses of talent during the Calipari era, Kentucky needed a heavy infusion of talent with Kentucky only bringing back one player with game experience from last season in Keion Brooks Jr. Dontaie Allen also returns, but he spent last year rehabbing from off-season injuries.

Kentucky finished ahead of UNC and Duke in the final rankings, and the SEC had a heavy presence, finishing with seven of the top 21 classes in the country.
