The Kentucky basketball roster for next season has many new faces. In fact, the team will return just one player from last season who actually saw the court.

Keion Brooks Jr., a rotational player and true freshman in 2019, will oddly enough be the team’s “veteran” heading into the 2020-2021 season.

While his 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game don’t exactly jump off your screen, he did have some moments towards the end of the season that showed he was starting to fit in to the system.

This summer, it looks like Brooks is becoming even more comfortable.

“I’m not afraid to say he’s going to have a really good jump and look different than he did as a freshman.”

Shawn Smith of Go Big Blue Country with the sophomore’s father, who expects his son to make significant strides this fall.

“It was kinda funny, not funny when they had him by himself, and everybody was gone,” Keion Brooks Sr. said. “That’s part of life and understanding that roles change at different times, and now it’s on him to lead.”

High quality reporting from Shawn and confident statements from Brooks’ father. There was much hype surrounding Brooks and his commitment to Kentucky. Maybe this season that star potential will be revealed.

If he practices and has the good off-season talked about in the article he just may be a special player for the Cats.
