After the Kentucky Wildcats missed out on Matt Haarms for next season, Jeff Goodman wasted no time in saying that he believes the Wildcats will struggle next year and that they’re lucky to crack the top-25.

Goodman released his very early pre-season top-25 for next year and the Wildcats check in at No. 23 to start the season. Goodman’s explanation for the low ranking?

I understand where Goodman is coming from, But he currently has Kentucky ranked behind the likes of Stanford, Rutgers, Louisville, and even Kentucky’s future opponent next season in Richmond.

Despite the lack of size, Kentucky has two elite wings and scorers coming in by way of Terrence Clarke and Brandon Boston, that alone should be enough to boast Kentucky to a top-15 team, with two very elite talents who can score at will.

But, alas, it’s just a meaningless pre-season ranking seven months before the season even tips off, if there is even a season.

The Cats will certainly have to earn their ranking this season.

It will be an interesting season. No experience, no big men. A little inexperience is one thing but this is different. I guess we will also be playing small ball. I’m honestly looking forward o it.

Nah. It's going to work out and Cal will get another front line man. He never seems to get any of the elite big men anyway.
