Reading this article it looks like EJ could not come back if he puts his name in the draft a second time. Which I didn't really know. Then in the last paragraph, second sentence I may be reading this wrong, but I'm thinking he is saying if he puts his name in the draft and then decides to come back....

"""Montgomery, meanwhile, tested the NBA Draft waters after last season and would be forced to remain in the draft were he to do so again this spring.

Starting 25 of 28 games for the Wildcats this season, Montgomery averaged 6.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game for the Wildcats this season. He showed flashes toward the end of the season in terms of his defense and rebounding and Montgomery's tip-in with 11 seconds left gave Kentucky a 71-70 win at Florida in the regular season finale.

That said, Montgomery still doesn't appear on any of the major mock drafts, meaning a departure would likely be premature and unjustified but perhaps the junior season that Richards enjoyed could convince him that a return to Lexington could yield major dividends.

"I would hope that they get as much information as they can and then try to decide. He was on a good path by the end of this year. He had a different look, a different approach," Calipari said.

"I told EJ, 'I'm with you whatever you do. I will fight like crazy if you put your name in the draft and be ecstatic if you come back. You're going to have to lead more, you're going to have to be more vocal, you're going to have to do more but we'll be there every step of the way but it's your choice of what you want to do. Get with your family and figure this out."""

He's not ready, IMO. If he decides to, he'll play in the D League.

Montgomery's stats don't look favorable at all.. He needs at least one more year if not two more years. I would bet Cal will have another talk with him and it will sink in that he is not ready.

I can't believe he put his name in the hat last year!

No way he should leave. He's not ready at all, but I have seen guys go int he first round that I just didn't understand. No handles, jump shot is too inconsistent, defense is so so, and doesn't rebound as well as he needs. He's alot like Richards was. Hopefully he comes back and has a Richard's type year.
