The first March Bracketology from ESPN is out and it sees a favorable draw for Kentucky.

Joe Lunardi projects UK as the No. 3 seed in the West Region, opening NCAA Tournament play vs. No. 14 UC-Irvine in St. Louis. Should they advance in the first round for the 11th straight year, Kentucky would face either (6) BYU, coached by former Wildcat Mark Pope, and the winner of the 11-seed play-in game between Cincinnati and Stanford.

Also in Kentucky's half of the bracket is No. 2 seed Florida State, coached by former UK assistant Leonard Hamilton, (7) Marquette and (10) Arizona State. The 2020 NCAA Tournament West Regional will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Wildcats haven't been sent to the West Region since 2007.

Kentucky clinched its 49th SEC regular season title outright, the sixth time under head coach John Calipari, by way of Saturday's 73-66 win over No. 15 Auburn at Rupp Arena. The Wildcats (24-5, 14-2 SEC) have now won a season-high eight straight games, 12 of its last 13 and 16 of its last 18 dating back to Dec. 28.

Lunardi currently has four SEC schools making the NCAA Tournament: (3) Kentucky, (5) Auburn, (8) LSU and (9) Florida. He also has Mississippi State among his "First Four Out."

Of the 14 times they've won the SEC outright since 1980, Kentucky has been a No. 1 or a No. 2 seed 13 times. The Wildcats were seeded third in 1983.
