I recover from trips to Las Vegas with naps and Gatorade. The Kentucky Basketball team bounced back with group meals, which Joel Justus believes helped build the chemistry we’ve seen during their impressive conference run. Since losing to Utah and Ohio State in Sin City, the Cats are 16-2 and only picking up steam with the postseason in sight.

“This is a group that really came together over Christmas,” Justus said today. “The Camp Cal days have changed with some new rules from the NCAA. What we were able to do was feed them and I think this group really came together over meals.”

“It’s amazing, when you look at it from our perspective, what meals can do for teams, what meals can do for families, and that has never been more obvious than with this team and how they came together after what I think we all would say was a rough Las Vegas trip. There were a lot of individuals that were questioned, our team was questioned, and this group came back and went to work after a three-, four-day kind of vacation and really came together. I think you look at that now at the beginning of March as a major point of our season.”

Shoutout to Jeff Ruby’s and that hibachi place the team seems to love. Other notes from Justus’ presser…

I'd hate to fit the bill of feeding the team at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse!
