The ESPN 100 basketball recruiting rankings for the class of 2020 were updated Thursday, and all six of Kentucky’s early signees were listed in the top 50.

Terrence Clarke, who was first inserted into the ESPN rankings at No. 13 overall after he reclassified from 2021 to 2010, is now rated as the No. 7 player in the class. That ranking is still curiously low compared to the other national recruiting services: Rivals.com and 247Sports both have Clarke at No. 4 overall, and Rivals national analyst Eric Bossi implied this week that it would be difficult for anyone to knock the future Wildcat out of the top five.

“Clarke’s scoring prowess and superior athleticism is undeniable. He’s a bona fide bucket-getter from anywhere on the floor who could be a real mismatch because of his length,” ESPN’s analysts wrote in a separate post. “The potential is there for him to crack into the top five of the ESPN 100 if he gives an all-out effort on the defensive end.”

Shooting guard Brandon “BJ” Boston is the next UK signee on ESPN’s list, coming in at No. 12 overall and dropping three spots from the previous update.

New point guard signee Devin Askew moved up one spot to No. 24 overall, power forward Isaiah Jackson dropped five spots to No. 27 overall, power forward Lance Ware dropped two spots to No. 45 overall, and wing Cam’Ron Fletcher dropped two spots to No. 47 overall.

Kentucky is still in the mix for three players in the 2020 class: power forward Greg Brown (No. 9), power forward JT Thor (No. 39) and center Cliff Omoruyi (No. 49).
