Hey guys, wake up!

This place usually gets quiet over the summer, but wow! It has been like a funeral parlor here, and it is October!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am pumped to see the new basketball team, and I am maybe the only person here who hasn't completely given up on our football team. Heck, it has even been strangely silent up on the "civil debate" board!

Let's make some noise!

I think this could be a really fun year. I am anxious to see the progression of EJ and Nick. I think this could be a fun ride.

I don't post a lot in sports because of two things:

(1) Kentucky will never, imo, be consistently good in football..we're a basketball school...that's just the way it is...you're either a "football school" or "basketball school". We will have our proud moments in football, but, beyond that, I don't have much hope.

Only two schools have won national championships in both sports---Michigan and Florida. Only one school has won both championships in the same year---Florida. Add that to the fact that Ky, the premier basketball program in the country plays in the premier football conference in the country...I hope for a lot, but don't expect that much.

(2) Ky will always be very good/great every year in basketball. Because of that I enjoy basketball much more than football, and my expectations are much higher....but that's just me.

I just got back from a 4 day trout trip Thursday evening. After Kaepernick, I pretty much lost interest in ALL football. After so many joined him in his disrespect, I've also lost faith in much of humanity. Having spent a large portion of my life defending this country, it's a hard pill to swallow.

Numbers were down a bit this trip. As a group (of 8), we got something over 400, but I personally got about 40. I didn't look at the final tally. Had a great time with some great guys. Ate like kings and there wasn't a democrat in the group! Not by design, just happened that way.
