The Cats went from a potential one seed all the way down to the 7th overall seed in the NCAA tournament this year. The Chairman said Michigan State jumped by Kentucky on the strength of winning the Big Ten tournament. Oh well. It is obvious that Clark Kellogg and company have little to no respect for the Southeastern Conference and their chances of winning any games from their commentary.

Michigan State jumping over us by winning the Big Ten tournament could turn out to be a blessing in disguise, they are now in the bracket with Duke. We knew we would be with either Duke or UNC and of course we are in the bracket with UNC.

Did you notice that ALL of the upset picks were teams beating SEC teams? Total lack of respect for the conference.

I honestly think the SEC will have a better tournament record than the vaunted Big 10 and the Big 12. The ACC teams pretty much have golden paths in front of them (at least the 3 1-seeds), but I think our teams will do better than the other power conferences.

It is strange that losing a close game to a number-2 seed on a neutral floor would drop up 3 or more places, but as Trey pointed out, those bozos who are on the committee are bureaucrats, not basketball experts.

Tip,

I don't know it is kind of stack against the SEC I think. Take Auburn for example. They are a #5 Seed, but they have to travel all the way to Utah and play the #12 Seed New Mexico State. Really? The #12 Seed gets to play closer to home and in an altitude environment they are use to playing at. That is a huge advantage for a much lower seeded team (under seeded team at that in my opinion). I think there are many scenarios like that where it just seems stacked against the SEC teams.

Ole Miss goes up against Oklahoma in the first round. Lon Kruger is a proven NCAA Tournament winner. I think that is a tough match up for them just due to him alone. That being said, if Ole Miss can get past Oklahoma and that is a big if, they have the type of team that gives UVA fits. Athletic guards that can shoot and drive to the rim. That is how you beat UVA by spacing them out and driving it against them.
