It appears to me this is what we are headed toward. Cal talks a little bit about it in this article. I for one am ok with this.

We stuck around yesterday for the post game interview with coach, the one thing he mentioned was that if the guys weren't fighting hard he was taking them out, he basically said if they don't play hard on both ends he was putting someone else in. He also praised Ashton saying he was the difference by shutting down Alonso, said he was cramping and that was why he kept coming out

Richards reminds me of Derek Willis -- he has the talent, but not the drive. Willis finally 'got it' towards the end of his Junior year, and finished strong. There is hope for Richards too. He can be a very productive big man if he gets serious about playing basketball.

Green just has to learn to get nasty on defense. His stature is against him, but Ulis was one of the best defenders we have ever had, so size really isn't the problem. It is either quickness, or instinct, or sheer desire.

I could see both Green and Richards transferring after this year. It is hard to climb out of Cal's doghouse, and both of them have a solid place there now.

Green is a good four year player that is great to have on the floor if his shot is going down. If not, he is a liability. He makes dumb passes and is terrible on defense. Just like Herro being compared to Rex is not fair, neither is comparing Green to Ulis. I think Herro will make the league but not last as long as Rex. I dont see Ulis making the NBA, but could play over seas. Rex played big in big games. That is what great players do. I dont see that in Herro, not yet, anyway. Ulis was a lion in a mouse body and feared nobody. Ulis is a one of kind player. Probably will never see another one like him at UK.

I don't agree with not playing Richards. The staff needs to bring the beast out of him. I don't see his work ethic in practice, maybe that has something to do with it. Would love to see him stay four years and make the league. If he stays on the bench and gets no minutes the rest of the season, I wouldnt blame him one bit for transferring.
