A two-time First Team All-Pac 12 selection for Stanford, Travis declared for the 2018 NBA Draft on April 6 but after not receiving an invitation to the pre-draft combine in Chicago, withdrew from the draft on May 30 and announced he would transfer for his final year of eligibility.

Travis graduated from Stanford on June 17 and committed to Kentucky as a graduate transfer on June 20, in part, because he wanted to become a first round pick and fter completing the enrollment process, Travis went through his first Kentucky practice Tuesday.

During his four-year career with the Cardinal, the 6-foot-9, 250-pound forward operated more as a bully in the paint, averaging 19.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor.

Calipari says Travis will have to expand his game if he wants to become the latest one and done first round pick.

"My thing with him, let's be more about movement," Calipari said during an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio Wednesday. "We need to get more movement, more perimeter stuff even though at the end of the day we need a basket or a rebound you gotta go for the ball."

The traditional back-to-the-basket big man has gone the way of the water buffalo in the modern game and Calipari says both Travis and his team will be geared more toward the dribble-drive next season.

The dribble drive will open things up for Travis and Washington.

Travis had two 20-point games against Arizona last season against the #1 draft pick Deandre Ayton this year. Jan.20 2018 he had 20 pts. 10 rebounds and the other game against Az. he had 23 pts. and 10 rebounds in March 2018. Not bad against # 1 draft pick and a good team.

He will be a good addition for the Cats and can't wait to see him and just how effective he will be.
