The Indiana All-Stars were stunned by the Kentucky All-Stars on Friday night, 100-89, at Knights Hall on the campus of Bellarmine University.

Indiana never led in the second half and shot just 40 percent from the floor for the game and 29 percent from three (10-of-34).

“We were just playing catch-up all night it seemed like,” Indiana head coach Jim Shannon said. “Never felt comfortable about how we were playing.”

Kentucky, with no players ranked higher than three stars on their roster, outhustled and outplayed Indiana for nearly the entire game. For a Kentucky team with no players heading to Division I major conference schools, hard work was a necessary component in a dominating win over an Indiana team with five players heading to Big Ten programs.

“We didn’t play hard,” Romeo Langford said after the loss.

Markelo Sullivan, a Moberly Community College commit, dropped a game-high 28 points and hit five of his nine three-point attempts for Kentucky, while Wright State commit Skyelar Potter had 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

That makes me very happy. For a group of no name players to beat the hot shot hoosiers is big news. Proud of our Kentucky high school kids.

It shows how hard work and dedication makes up for talent. Great job by the Kentucky boys!
