Did Cal lose Bragg to Kansas 2 years ago......or did he back off for various reasons? Of course we'll never know but no one could prove Cal decided to stop recruiting him. Sure wish I was a mind reader. Of course the other side is we may never know what type of player he would have been at UK.

"""Former five-star recruit Carlton Bragg is leaving the Arizona State basketball program, a source tells 247Sports.

Bragg enrolled at Arizona State after transferring from Kansas during the off season. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Bragg was forced to sit out this season and would have been eligible next year.

During two years at Kansas, Bragg scored a total of 305 points. Bragg averaged 5.2 points and reeled in 4.1 rebounds a game as a sophomore.

The Sun Devils are currently ranked No. 3 in the currently and are 12-1 on the season.

Bragg, 22, is a 6-foot-9 power forward originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He was ranked as the No. 24 overall recruit in the 2015 recruiting class. """ [Confused]

So will he have to sit out next year as well?

Unless there's a way for AZ to release him.

One thing I will say about Cal... he is a good judge of character. His recruits have been solid kids, and nary a fruitcake among them. Bragg looks to be a head-case, and I am sure Cal detected that and backed off early.

I think we are seeing a decision like this currently in the fact that Trae Young is at Oklahoma. Granted, the kid is an unbelievable player and is putting up absurd numbers, but there is no way he would fit in here.

With Cal's "everyone eats" message, Young would have been forced to be a player he is not. In the end, I think it works for both programs.

I would've taken Trae Young in a heartbeat. I'd give up Green and Alexander right now for Young. He's a kid who can win a championship with a few solid role players and some good coaching. Young isn't just a "me first" shooting point guard. The kid averages close to double-digit assists. He's the real deal.

I agree with CSC and Paul, Young at Oklahoma is putting up huge numbers but if he played under Cal and the Cats he would have been a heck of a player. I doubt seriously however Young would be putting up near the numbers of 29 points and 10.7 assists per game.

No way he averages 29 points at UK with the current players. If he would have comitted to UK early Green would be elsewhere. Alexander could have been here along with him. that would have made for an interesting duo at guards. Young is doing exactly what he wants to do to be drafted high.
