Anywhere Calipari wants to put him, other than point guard. Like so many of the versatile forwards Kentucky signed in this class, Knox is a Swiss Army knife. With a 7-foot wingspan and size-18 feet, you could certainly play him in the post — but the Cats likely won’t.

“I’m telling you what he is: He’s a guard,” Calipari said in July during Team USA under-19 tryouts, in which Knox looked like the best player on the court until he pulled a hamstring. He’s a 6-foot-9 guard.”

He’ll likely play on the wing or as a stretch four in Lexington, using his length and athleticism to defend shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards with ease. And maybe even centers. He can create his own shot off the dribble and could emerge as one of UK’s best outside-shooting threats.
