In listening to pre game radio, they are reporting Briscoe will not be playing today and are projecting starting five as Willis, Gabriel, Bam, Monk and Fox.

Briscoe will be missed but the Cats are deep enough to still win big....

Monk is on fire with 19 at the half.

Fox has 12 with 6 assists already.

They have started getting a balanced blend of inside/outside lately which bodes well for them as a team. No selfish players that I have seen in five games now, they just want to win.

Cal must have changed his mind. He started Hawkins. He played for a long time but when he went out he was thru. He never got on the floor again. Maybe Cal knows what Hawkins can do and he wanted to see some other combos. He even had Boom and Humphries on the floor together. They worked a high-low for a couple baskets. Gabriel and Willis also made some low passes to Humphries.

Cal said in the after game interview that not having Briscoe gave him a chance to look at some different combinations He got a chance to see both Willis and Gabriel on the floor at the same time along with Bam, what he called his big line up. I too wondered why Hawkins did not get back in the game, he hustled, played solid defense but did not take any shots while in.

Gabriel had a very productive game in his 26 minutes of court time. He had had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists coming off the bench.

Willis didn't have one of his better games with 7 points, 5 rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes. Humphries however made good use of his 11 minutes of playing time with 9 points and 9 boards.

They were reporting on the radio yesterday that Hawkins had a knee contusion.(Bruise) SO I guess coach decided to rest him for the rest of the game. I didn't see the play, did he knock knees with someone else?

It was pre-cautionary and called a knee contusion.
