I bet the kids had a ball.

That might’ve been the first time we’ve been booed in Lexington,” senior guard Mychal Mulder said. “But hopefully it’s the last.”

He was grinning, and the boos were playful – probably. The Wildcats were there for a good cause: to deliver packed lunches as part of a UK Athletics partnership with God’s Pantry and to play games with the children.

Without naming names (cough-Isaac-Humphries-cough), a few of the Cats cheated in a series of relay races against the kids.

“We couldn’t lose,” freshman point guard De’Aaron Fox said, “so you do what you gotta do to win.”

Freshman guard Malik Monk made up for the rule-breaking by putting on a show for the kids. He leaped over the school’s principal, who was seated on the floor, and threw down a crowd-pleasing dunk – on a much-shorter-than-regulation goal. He later rose up over an unsuspecting Bam Adebayo for another high-flying slam.
