Sunday morning around noon I was getting carry-out from Bob Evens in Newport. A huge dude walked by me on his way out and I could swear it was Rod Strickland. Is he still on he UK coaching staff? If so, any ideas what he'd be doing at Bob Evans in Newport, Ky?

No, he is no longer on the UK staff. I suppose he might have been in the area recruiting. Or, maybe he was visiting with Cal.

I take it you didn't talk to him?

He joined Orlando Antiguia's staff at University of South Florida two years ago.

Tip, it happened so fast I just didn't get a word out. I was kind of stunned, thinking that can't be him. But I tell ya, I'd lay good money on it.

Orlando is in real trouble for Academic fraud at USF according to a former USF basketball player that I play morning hoops with and is big donor and was a huge supporter of the Antigua hire there.

Hopefully he can just "claim" the UNC ignorance precedent and get out of it, but my guess is the NCAA comes down hard on USF.

Orlando's brother Oliver has resigned as he see's handwriting on the wall.

Assistant coach Oliver Antigua, the brother of head coach Orlando Antigua, had not been allowed to go out on the road recruiting this month, multiple sources told ESPN. The school released a statement later Wednesday saying that Oliver Antigua has resigned, but did not say why.

Orlando Antigua took over in 2014 after spending the previous six seasons under John Calipari -- one at Memphis and five at Kentucky.

Oliver Antigua was previously an assistant for one season at Seton Hall before he was hired to join the USF staff in 2014. He spent more than a decade as the head coach at St. Raymond High in the Bronx.

Orlando Antigua, 43, is 16-47 in his two seasons at the helm at South Florida. The Bulls were 7-24 last season.
