Since Coach John Calipari has been at Kentucky, the draft has become the finale to the NCAA basketball season for Kentucky fans no matter how the Wildcats finish in the tournament. It is a celebration of the guys that have given their all to the Kentucky basketball program and are ready to take the next step to chase their dreams and support their families.

Unlike most years, however, the chatter on sports talk radio and college basketball blogs on the days following the draft was about how tough of a night it was for Coach Cal and the for the program.

Skal Labissiere dropped out of the lottery, and nearly out of the 1st round completely.

Tyler Ulis, amid medical concerns, fell to the early second round.

Jamal Murray was picked 7th overall, which was still considered a disappointment since he was considered a top 3 selection going into draft night.

The consensus draft analysis was that the 2016 NBA draft results were not a good look for Kentucky.
